Throughout September, Emory DPT Sustainability will be observing Mental Health Awareness month.
One in four people experience a mental health problem in their lifetime which means most of us face the reality of living with or knowing someone who lives with a mental illness [1].
When we talk about health, it is just as important to speak about issues dealing with mental health as it is to talk about heart health or brain health. By addressing health of the mind and body, we can start to see each person as a whole being, fight the stigma, and provide support in the form of educational resources and tools.
We welcome all to join us in activities and in spreading the word that mental health is something everyone should care about.
